The plane’s landing gear broke after it crashed into the ocean, the FAA said.
A flight from Tampa to Bemidji, Minnesota, is delayed for several days as crews try to fix the damaged wings of the plane.
The FAA said the plane landed in Bemido, Minnesota after a mechanical failure.
The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash and determine if it was caused by pilot error.
The crash comes just weeks after a plane crashed into Lake Okeechobee in Florida.
That incident also resulted in the deaths of the pilot and two crew members.
