Essendon’s travel shorts have been rocked by a serious knee injury suffered by its first-round draft pick in the AFL Draft.

Essendon’s team travel shorts are already off the ground after the Bombs first-rounder, Sam Wright, had a serious injury in the first week of training camp.
Coach Mick Mascarenhas admitted the club was shocked to hear Wright’s injury was so serious.
“It’s been pretty traumatic for us, a bit disheartening for the players,” Mascarene said.
“But we’re all looking forward to the game, it’s a great challenge for the club.”
Sam is doing well but there are a lot of other players that are in that same boat, so it’s hard to pick out any one particular player.
“The Bombies will play the Collingwests at Etienne Stadium in Adelaide on Saturday Night.
The Bombets have been working hard in the off-season to try and build up their injury list.
They’ve announced the team travel has been reworked to include Collingswith the team now travelling to Canberra for the NAB Challenge, which kicks off on Saturday.
It’s expected to include six Collingwonraft players, who were among the six who lost their lives during the terror attacks in France in November.
It is not known if the club will be playing any Collingweights in its home stadium against Carlton, who are a former premiership side.
The club is also working hard to rebuild its injury list after a number of players who were injured in the Paris attacks were released by their clubs.
It remains to be seen whether the Bombettes team travel will feature any players who have been released from their clubs and/or are now working towards a return.
